Overview — what Ledger Live does

Ledger Live is the official application that pairs with your Ledger® hardware device to manage crypto accounts, view balances, sign transactions and install device apps. Available as Ledger Live Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile (Android/iOS), it centralizes secure key use while keeping the recovery phrase offline.

Download & Desktop Setup

Always obtain Ledger Live from Ledger®’s official domain or the verified app stores. For desktop: download the installer for your OS, run the package, then open Ledger Live and follow the onboarding wizard to connect your Ledger® device via USB or Bluetooth (where supported).

Login, Security & Account Recovery

Ledger Live uses a local app password for convenience; the Ledger® hardware is required to sign transactions. If your Ledger Live login is not working, the secure path is to reinstall Ledger Live and restore accounts using your 24/12-word recovery phrase on a new Ledger® device. Never share this phrase with anyone — Ledger® support will not ask for it.

Troubleshooting — targeted fixes

Ledger Login not working: update Ledger Live, reboot machine and device, try a new cable/USB port.
Error Connecting Ledger Account: check firmware mismatch between device and Ledger Live; update both via the Manager.
Ledger Live App not Working: collect logs (Help → Troubleshooting), disable conflicting VPN/firewall temporarily, reinstall Ledger Live.
Can't verify Ledger Wallet: confirm firmware authenticity via Ledger Live and only use official download links.
Unable to Ledger Trezor: these are separate vendors—use Ledger Live for Ledger® devices and Trezor Suite for Trezor devices; do not mix firmware or expect cross-compatibility.
Ledger 2fa reset: Ledger® devices don’t use platform 2FA — reset 2FA on third-party services directly where applicable.
